Blackboard Collaborate

This session will feature a full-feature presentation on the use of Blackboard Collaborate. Participants will have the opportunity to see how many of the features operate. Participants will learn:

1.How to grant Moderator rights to Participants
2.How to create and use Break-out Rooms on-the-fly
3.Use of the Audio Setup Tool 


Effective and Engaging Online Discussions in Blackboard

Many experts believe that discussion boards are the place where some of the most important learning in an online course occurs. Research shows that effective and engaging discussion boards can increase interactions with students up to three times that of traditional face-to-face students. It is important to maintain balance and engage the students in interesting discussions while at the same time not complicate and overwhelm them. Participants will learn:

1. How to make the most of discussion boards
2. How to get students to participate more frequently and at a higher level
3. Best practices in facilitating discussions in an online course


The Joy of Formatting in Blackboard, Word, and PowerPoint

Are you frustrated with formatting in Blackboard? Do you spend as much time fighting with fonts and layouts as you do writing your lecture or article? Participants will learn:

1. How to clean up existing word documents for use in Blackboard
2. How to utilize the Blackboard Text Editor
3. How to format PowerPoint presentations for Blackboard.
