There is a simple process in getting started in the activities provided through Recreational Sports.

Select the activity and form a team. If you are new to the campus and would like to participate on a team with other students, drop by the office or email Jess Johanson at jessica_thompson@nic.edu .

Obtain an information packet with starting dates, entry deadlines, rules and regulations, release forms, and team roster.

If a team forfeit fee is required, payment must be made in the Business Office prior to competing. If your team forfeits one contest during the regular season or playoffs, this fee will be lost. Teams that do not forfeit may pick up forfeit bond by going to the Recreational Sports Coordinator and request their deposit. Team managers must pay their deposit in the Business Office before the season starts and file the receipt with the Recreational Sports Coordinator.

All championship teams and individual champions will receive Championship T-Shirts. Recreational Sports is constantly trying to provide new and exciting activities for students, faculty, and staff. If you would like to introduce a competition in any leisure activity not offered through the Recreational Sports Program, you can provide a list comprising of a minimum of four teams to participate. This allows the department adequate time to organize the schedule and provide officials. No awards will be given the first year an activity is introduced. The group organizing the activity will be expected to provide most of the leadership under the supervision of the Recreational Sports Coordinator.

All Recreational Sports participants must be aware of the natural risks involved in various activities. Individuals are encouraged to obtain health insurance prior to participation in any event. North Idaho College and the Recreational Sports Department are not responsible for any injuries that may occur. Individuals who choose to participate in the Recreational Sports Program will be doing so at their own risk.
