A.B.L.E.

A.B.L.E. stands for Accessability and Learning Equality, and is an open to any interested NIC students. The club was created to provide social and emotional support for disabled students, to provide student advocacy to ensure and promote the development of the NIC policy regarding educational rights and fairness in accessability and to promote awareness and sensitivity relating to disability issues at NIC. The club meetings are once a month. A schedule of meeting times is announced at each meeting and is posted in the Disability Support Services Office in Kildow Hall.

American Indian Student Alliance (AISA)

The purpose of AISA Shall be to:

Form a council representative of American Indian student leaders and organization

Coordinate activities and opportunities of interest to American Indian students on campus.

Represent the intrests of American Indian students at NIC, promote increased awarness of American Indian student cultures, and address issues of concern.

Develop a model of networking and cooperation among student leaders that creates and promotes professional and tribal networks for the future.

Manage fundraising for American Indian activities and events.

The purpose of the Baptist Student Ministries is to provide an opportunity for students to respond to Jesus Christ through a personal relationship. The organization allows students to grow in their faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ in an atmosphere of fellowship. The club goals are: to provide leadership opportunities for today's and tomorrow's Christian leaders for service both on campus and in the community; to become an integral and lasting contributor to the development of the students outside the classroom, and to provide an atmosphere of openness and comradery for all NIC students to share their spiritual beliefs and backgrounds. Meetings are every Thursday at noon in the ESU.

Business Professionals of America (BPA)

Leadership development through student organizations can be effective in strengthening the educational process for students. It is deemed essential that:

1. There be established a student organization to serve the needs of those students interested in business topics.

2. This organization provides a means for individual groups to participate as members of a national student organization serving interested in business topics.

Campus Crusade for Christ is an interdenominational, student, Christian organization seeking to provide a spiritual environment for students. It is an organization designed for students that will focus on God and the teachings of His word, the Bible, Christian fellowship, friendship and accountability. It will provide a place to learn, worship and grow in God, and will provide a way to reach others for God. Meetings are Mondays at 12:00.

Engineering Club

The Engineering Club is sponsored by the physical science and math/computer science divisions. It is dedicated to expose students in engineering, computer science and physical sciences to the work world by field trips to industries and businesses in the northwest, assist in high school math and science competitions sponsored by the divisions and offer seminars with speakers from the area. In addition, there are social gatherings during the year.

The purpose of NIC's Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration club is to provide public awareness of the HVAC/R field and to provide a social group for the betterment of the students in the program. The club arranges programs, on-site training, demonstrations and other activities to supplement classroom learning. Students study the effects of heating and air conditioning for preservation of foods and human comfort. Meetings are the first and third Mondays of each month from 7:15 am to 8 am in the commons of the Hedlund Building.

The NIC Rowing Club is comprised of students and instructors interested in the art of rowing. The purpose of the club is to promote the sport in North Idaho. The club operates in conjunction with the Coeur d'Alene Rowing Association, and rows each morning at 5:15 am from the Fernan Lake boat launch.

The Publications Club is comprised of students and instructors whose primary interests in membership are related to journalism and producing the Sentinel, the student newspaper. The Student Organization of Social Workers (SOSW) was established at Lewis Clark State College in 1991. SOSW seeks to provide the social work students with an additional opportunity for learning in such areas as leadership, organizational skills, policy and decision making; as well as providing a sense of community among students completing the Social Work core. Meetings for the SOSW are held monthly and will be announced in the Social Work classes, as well as posted in the Social Science Department.
