Steps for Dual Credit (WINGS) Students
Dual Credit allows academically qualified students to receive both high school credit and college credit for completion of NIC courses. To qualify you must be at least 16 years of age and/or have completed one-half of your high school graduation requirements. A 3.0 GPA is recommended. Dual Credit students pay a reduced tuition rate which can be viewed on the tuition rate page.
1. Meet with High School Counselor
Your high school counselor can help you determine if you are eligible for the Dual Credit program. You can also pick up your Dual Credit admissions application from your counselor. If you are home schooled contact the Admissions office.
2. Complete an Application for Admission
You can apply online or submit an Application for Admission at the NIC Admissions Office.
3. Select Classes
Meet with your high school counselor to determine which courses will meet your high school graduation requirements. View the NIC Class Schedule to find which classes are available.
4. Complete the Dual Credit Registration Form
This form requires the signatures of your high school counselor and your parent/guardian. If you are home schooled, contact Lynn Bates, (208) 676-7150, in the Admissions Office for additional information. Submit the completed form at the Admissions Office at NIC.
5. Pay Tuition
Pay by cash, check, Visa MasterCard. Payment can be made through NICOnline with a Visa, MasterCard, or debit card. Dual credit students are subject to the fee payment policy.
6. Purchase Books
Books can be purchased at the Mica Peak Exchange in the Student Union Building or on-line at www.bookstore.nic.edu.
