On-line Idaho and National Career Information

Now you can access the CIS information from home!  First get the User name and Password from the Career Center at NIC.  Then, you can click on the logo or the    active link for Idaho Career Information System above. 
               
Enter the User name and Password given to you by the Career Center.

 

Gives job descriptions, wages, employment outlook, tips, & training requirements for 95% of the occupations in Idaho  and nationally.  Also contains information on colleges, financial aid,  owning your own business, etc..  Best resource for career information.

 

 

CAREER ADVANTAGE VIDEOS

View our collection of 26 videos (30 minutes each) that address all aspects of career planning and job search.  The expert presenters include Richard Bolles, Jeremy Rifkin, Barbara Sher, Howard Figler, William Bridges and industry leaders such as top executives at Sun Microsystems and Citibank.

JOBPROFILES.ORG

There are many paths to success in the work world. JobProfiles gives you a look into some of them. Each profile was completed by someone who is successful in their job.  They have been selected from their memberships in associations, unions and business organizations.  There are over 200 biographies on this site.

OCCUPATIONAL OUTLOOK HANDBOOK

The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives.  Revised every two years, the Handbook describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects in a wide range of occupations.

Come in to our office to look at a collection of information on careers related to every major at NIC.

COLLEGE CATALOGS

Browse through local college catalogs or view and print selected pages from on-line versions of catalogs for nearly any college in the country.

SCHOLARSHIPS

As a supplement to the information and services available through the North Idaho College Financial Aid Office, we provide local and national databases covering a wide variety of sources to help finance your college education.  The Idaho Career Information System (CIS) database as well as on-line Internet resources, will help you to identify scholarships, grants, and loans for which you are eligible.

 
CAREER LIBRARY

Check out our career library of over 300 volumes.  Subjects range from books for those who are just beginning the career search process, books on specific careers, directories and trends, school and college information, financial aid resources, job search and advancement skills (such as resumes, cover letters and interviewing), and current periodicals.

 

Additional assistance is also available regarding  DECISION-MAKING, JOB SEARCH (RESUMES, INTERVIEWS), and more.  Just ask.
