Each year (since 2002) a list of NIC IT initiatives is derived from the College's Technology Plan. This particular plan includes 56 total recommendations that were developed by NIC's Technology Master Planning Committee in November 2001, as a result of the College's Strategic Planning (1999-2002). The following are archived NIC "Information Technology Initiatives": 2002-03 #1: Create a Technology Advisory Committee to support informed decision making. #2: Provide ongoing communication of major IT initiatives, role and importance. #3: Establish 3-year equipment replacement schedules (ERS) on an institution-wide basis. #4: Conduct a needs analysis to understand technology training needs. #5: Identify faculty expectations and needs in regard to technology support and training for instruction. #6: Provide cross training for mission-critical skills, including training for organizational dynamics. #7: Continue Phase 2 of the network infrastructure upgrade as begun in 2001-02. #8: Review all mission-critical servers and circuits to incorporate redundancy. #9: Establish technology supported learning environments based on curriculum. #10: Establish an institution-wide process for conducting coordinated activities to obtain and implement an up-to-date institutional software system capable of delivering new benefits and continuing to handle routine operational needs.
