Individual Logins
Every NIC student has an
individual login account that is newly created each semester. This
account allows students to utilize NIC's network from any campus
computer. The login also gives permission to use a personal 100mg storage folder
for saving files. This folder is located on the 'Cardinal' volume
under the student's login username.
-
To log in
from any campus computer:
1) In the Novell login Username field, type the 7-digit student
ID number (use lowercase
letters).
2) In the Password field, type your 6-digit birth date. E.g. for March
16, 1989, the password would be 031689.
3) Click the OK button or press the Enter key, and another screen will
appear.
4) Click OK to the Windows workstation window (don't enter a
password).
-
To log in
from a laptop using a wireless connection:
1) Open a web browser on
your laptop. The Blue Socket wireless login page will appear.
2) If you want access to your Cardinal directory, you must enter a
username and password under Registered Users. The User Name is the
7-digit student
ID number (use lowercase letters)
and the Password is the 6-digit birth date. E.g. for a student born on
March 16, 1989, the password would be 031689. Click the checkbox
next to 'I accept terms of service' and click on the login button.
3) If Internet-only access is needed but not network directory access,
then you can login under 'Guest' using any valid, personal e-mail
address.
