Spring 2008 Datatel Training Sessions

Datatel – The Basics. Wednesday, February 27th, 1:30-3:00 p.m., ELF, Winton Hall. This workshop will provide an overview of Datatel’s Colleague application software and basic navigation of the systems. Intended for new users to Datatel or as a refresher.

Student Records & Admissions. Thursday, February 28th, 1:30-3:30 p.m., ELF, Winton Hall. This session is intended as a refresher for current employees or as training for new employees who access student academic records and admissions information. Come and learn how to interpret the student and application summary screens, print class rosters, course schedules, and more.

Purchasing, Approvals, & Budget Reports. Wednesday, March 12th, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., ELF, Winton Hall. This training session will cover the requisition, purchase order, and approval processes within Datatel's Purchasing module and provide an overview of department financial reports. Intended for new users to Datatel or as a refresher.

Communications Management. Wednesday, March 12th, 1:30-3:30 p.m., ELF, Winton Hall. You are invited to attend this training session on Communications Management, Datatel's outgoing and incoming communications tracking system. This training will provide a basic overview of document creation, track assignment, correspondence processing, and new features of Release 18 for the new user to Communications Management or as a refresher.

Information Centers and DataMarts: A New Reporting Strategy. Thursday, March 13th, 3:00-4:00 p.m., ELF, Winton Hall. This session will introduce the next generation of reporting at NIC which is built upon Information Centers and Microsoft Technology. Information Centers are those offices at NIC that field requests for information. Those offices include Admissions, Business Office, Financial Aid, Human Resources, Institutional Research, Instruction, and Registrar's Office. Microsoft has made advances in their technology that enhance the reporting capabilities of a DataMart. Come learn about that new technology and how it will provide web delivered reports in this next generation of reporting.

DataMart New Reports. Thursday, March 20th, 3:00-4:00 p.m., ELF, Winton Hall. Come and see what's new with DataMart reporting! Authors from the various Information Centers have been busy creating new reports accessible via the web using Microsoft's SQL Server Reporting Services. This session is intended for current DataMart report consumers.

R25 (from CollegeNET) is a campus event and room scheduling system.  It allows a scheduler to search for suitable spaces across campus that are available for academic and non-academic events.  To request access and training information, please contact the Office of Instruction, Molstead Library 252 (x3305).
