The Idaho Community College On-Line Dual Credit initiative is a collaborative partnership between Idaho's community colleges (College of Southern Idaho, College of Western Idaho, and North Idaho College) and Idaho high schools to deliver college-level courses to high school students through distance education using the Internet. Dual credit programs give students the opportunity to receive both high school and college credits for pre-approved courses. Dual credit courses are accepted by all Idaho institutions of higher education and most institutions outside the state. Idaho's colleges/universities are accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Students are encouraged to consult with the institution of their choice regarding the transferability of credits earned and students are responsible for ensuring dual credit courses will be accepted for credit by their home high school.
Dual credit students are able to take any class in the North Idaho College Class Schedule. Additionally, the following Internet courses are specifically available for dual credit students only:
Check with your HS to see if this option is available at your HS during live lecture times. Your HS determines if they can offer the course during the time designated. You may also take the course from any computer with high-speed internet, a headset and microphone if approved by your high school to take off site. Webcams are optional.
Attendance over internet in live lecture courses is required for days/times indicated.
Live Lecture courses require headsets with microphones that may be purchased at the NIC Bookstore.
Check with your high school to see if headsets are available prior to purchase.

Regular college courses are also available to
dual credit students.
Registration takes place in the fall and spring semesters for dual credit courses. For the 2013-2014 school year, dual credit tuition is projected to be $65/credit, but students may see an upward adjustment to this tuition rate prior to the beginning of the fall 2013 semester. Students wishing to participate in the dual credit on-line program will have the option of registering for coursework with any of Idaho's three community colleges, based on the availability of dual credit coursework from each of the colleges in the fall and spring semester.
Students are enrolled in classes using the college's calendar, and drop/withdraw/payment dates coincide with the local college schedule. Students taking classes via the Internet will register with the individual community college of choice, as well as their local high school and/or on-line secondary provider for dual credit coursework. Students will use the dual credit process as applicable for each community college and make tuition payment according to each college's registration and payment guidelines.
