These are some of the most frequently asked questions. If your question is not answered here, please e-mail or call the Human Resources office: humanresources@nic.edu or 208-769-3304.

When will I hear about my application?

The Human Resources office will mail and/or e-mail updates to you as soon as such information is received from the hiring department. You will be notified when the position has been filled. We also post this information on our Status Updates link and on our Job Hotline at 208-769-7707.

If I have applied before, do I need to apply again?

Yes. Applications submitted for previous recruitments will not be forwarded for consideration in a current recruitment. You will need to submit a complete application packet for the position that interests you.

If I want to apply for more than one position, what do I do?

You must submit a separate, complete application packet for each position that interests you. You are welcome to photocopy your application materials, however the Human Resources office is not allowed to do so for you.

Can I get a copy of something I submitted with my application?

No. All documents submitted as part of your application packet become the property of the college and will not be returned or copied by the college.

What are your office hours?

We are open Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Can I e-mail my application?

You may e-mail any required application materials that do not require a signature. Please keep in mind that the NIC Application Form and any required supplemental forms must contain your signature in order to be considered.

What if I want to apply for a position that isn't listed?

NIC only accepts applications for jobs that are currently listed. Unsolicited applications for non-specific employment are shredded.

What if I'm missing a required material?

Your application packet will not be forwarded to the recruiting department unless it is complete. Please check the position announcement against your materials to be sure your packet is complete.

Will my application be considered if I mailed it on the closing date?

Applications must be received in our office on or before the closing date and time. You may fax your material to meet the deadline. Fax number: (208) 769-7786.

How do I know if my faxed application was received?

Can I submit a resume for your files?

NIC only accepts resumes for jobs that are currently listed. Unsolicited resumes for non-specific employment are shredded.

The application won't download properly

Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to download our application. If you would prefer a hard copy contact our office and we can either mail or fax one to you.

If I am called for an interview, will my travel expenses be reimbursed?

Travel reimbursement is limited to certain instances. Be sure to ask before you accept the interview.

If I am hired, will my moving expenses be covered?

There are certain incidences for which expenses for moving are paid. Be sure to ask before you accept the position.
