Airport Pickup

Airport pickup is available for all new IELP students. Students planning to arrive by airplane should schedule their flights to Spokane International Airport in Spokane, Washington. Students should contact the IELP Coordinator in advance so that arrangements can be made to greet them at the airport.

Accommodations

While North Idaho College is not responsible for the safety of international students who live off campus, the IELP Coordinator will happily help IELP students find suitable housing. Homestays with meals usually cost $350 - $450 per month. Apartments range in price from $200 to $600 per month.

Advising

The International Student Advisor (ISA) is the official advisor for all international students. The ISA helps students with academic advising, class scheduling, information regarding visa renewal, transfers to other colleges and universities, on-campus work, information, interpretation, explanation of government laws and college regulations, and cultural adjustment.

Language Lab

NIC’s language lab is a classroom with computers, VCRs, and audio equipment and materials. When students are not in class, they can practice their English in the lab by watching American movies, listening to stories and lectures in English, practicing grammar and pronunciation and learning vocabulary with computer programs, and using the internet. The Language Lab Assistant makes an effort to know all IELP students and to make the lab a comfortable, friendly place for them to study and spend time.
