Summer lake breezes invite you to learn to sail. Enjoy 12 hours of hands-on, wet and wild small boat sailing instruction on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Spending the majority of our lesson time on the water ensures that the student has a better chance of retaining the information after the course is complete. Proper use of equipment, safety, and terminology are all covered. Swimming skills are required. Students must be 18 years of age.

NIC Volleyball Advanced Skills Camp (Grades 9-12)

$175 • Three meals provided.

Check in begins at 9:30 a.m. on first day of camp
 
Day 1 July 30 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
                        2 - 5 p.m
                        6:30 - 9 p.m.
                        Fundamentals of individual skills, followed by competitions.
 
Day 2 July 31 9 a.m. - noon
                       1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
                       Skill building, position-specific session, integration of skills, and game-style competitions.
 
The Advanced Skills Camps are focused on individual skills, combined with team concepts. Players will
be grouped by age and ability to ensure a competitive level of play and a positive learning experience.

Backpacking - Clinic 2 (Field Session)

8 AM - 5 PM
North Idaho Wilderness

Escape to the mountains with Outdoor Pursuits.  This course will prepare you for a lifetime of overnight hikes.  We will spend an evening in the classroom discussing proper equipment, trip preparation, and basic navigation followed by a long weekend putting it all together in the wilderness.  Fee includes instruction and transportation.  All equipment and food will be the responsibility of the participants.  Students must be 18 years of age.

Class: Robot Virtual Worlds-Gaming
Date: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – August 5-7, 2014 
Age Group: 12-18 yrs. $69.00

Description: Beginning level no prior experience needed. The course is appropriate for any student interested in learning how to program in RobotC along with the hands-on experience of making the NXT Robot run on the programs and obstacle courses designed in class. This includes training on RobotC Virtual Worlds (RVW) where students create programs and games that do not require a robot!

Date: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – August 5-7, 2014
Age Group & Cost: 9-14 yrs. $69.00

Description: Beginning level no prior experience needed. Master programming the Lego NXT Mindstorm Robots using a graphical user interface (GUI). Students will program the robots to run on an obstacle course. A challenge tournament will be held the last hour of class on August 7. This can be used for pre-training for FLL competitive robotics team.

Class: 3-D Animation and Games using ALICE 2.0 
(Both boys and girls are welcome, but girls are encouraged to participate in this particular camp.)
Date: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – August 12-14, 2014
Age Group: 12-18 yrs. $69.00

Description: Beginning level no prior experience needed. The Alice 3-D software system is a learning tool for beginning level programmers. Students will be able to make storytelling animations and interactive games with Alice programming software. One of the many strengths of Alice is that it has been able to make abstract concepts concrete in the eyes of first – time programmers by using drag-drop methods that minimizes syntax errors. By using 3-D graphics, Alice speaks directly to a generation raised on video games. We encourage girls to sign up for this class.
