FAQs

Q: The remote is not working to turn on the projector?
A: Either the batteries are dead and need to be replaced or the remote has been turned off.  If the remote has a switch that can turn the remote off, the switch needs to be in the on position for the remote to work.

Q: I am hooking up my laptop to the LCD projector and I am not seeing anything.  The projector says no signal?
A: All laptops need to have the mirror feature turned on so that the image can be seen on both the monitor and the LCD projector.  This can be accomplished by pushing the appropriate function key.

Q:  I am trying to use the computer and I am not seeing it on the screen?
A:  In many classrooms across campus the computer routes through the document camera to reach the LCD projector.  The Document camera must be on and the button labeled computer must be selected.  Also the LCD projector should be on computer input, which could be computer 1 or input A.

Q:  I am trying to play a movie and it is not showing on the screen.  I have audio but no video?
A:  The input needs to be changed to video on the LCD projector.  This can be done using the remote and selecting the video button or in some cases the input button can be pushed until you see the screen you are looking for.  In many HSB classroom you need to push the proper source on the panel.

Q:  Is it okay to leave the LCD projector or any other equipment on all day?
A:  Equipment needs to be shut down at the end of every class period.  If the next instructor tells you they are going to use the equipment for there class then you can leave it, but keep in mind that the instructor coming in takes responsibility for turning the equipment off when they are done using it.  Leaving LCD projectors and other equipment on can be a costly mistake.
