Memberships are available for the North Idaho College Booster Club for the 2010-2011 athletics season. NIC boosters directly contribute to the college’s continued success in every arena of competition, while enjoying several benefits.

The booster club is a nonprofit organization that was established to support NIC’s nine athletic teams and the nearly 200 students who participate in athletics each year. About 25 percent of the athletic department’s annual operating budget is generated through a variety of external sources, including major support from annual gifts to the booster club. This year, the booster club is seeking to raise its membership by 25 percent with a goal of generating $100,000 in support of our student-athletes.

NIC Booster Club members receive benefits such as athletics events passes, season tickets, named seating in Christianson Gym, Cardinal clothing and more. Members also receive invitations to events like the Lake Coeur d’Alene cruise to benefit NIC athletics, which will be held this year on Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. NIC Booster Club luncheons are held twice a month and NIC’s current and upcoming athletics seasons will be featured during the 2010-2011 Cardinal Athletics Showcase at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28 in the Coeur d’Alene Resort Shore Lounge.

As a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association, the NIC Cardinals have finished in the top 10 in the nation in wrestling, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, women’s soccer, softball and volleyball, earning more national championships than any NJCAA program in the region.
