10/29/2009
Nationally-acclaimed playwright Timothy Mooney will present the one-man play “Molier Than Thou” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15 in North Idaho College’s Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center.
“This is a lively, energetic evening at the theater that truly captures the spirit of Moliere,” said NIC Theater Director Joe Jacoby. “It is not to be missed!”
Mooney’s “Moliere Than Thou,” is a 90-minute play that parades through 10 of the best loved plays of the French playwright Moliere. Mooney portrays Moliere in this entertaining play, in which Mooney often interacts with the audience.
Mooney is the former founder and editor of The Script Review and was the artistic director of Chicago’s Stage Two Theatre, where he produced nearly 50 plays in five years. Mooney has written 15 variations on the plays of Moliere, which have been produced around the world.
With “Moliere Than Thou,” Mooney has given more than 50,000 students their first introduction to Moliere. “Moliere Than Thou” was brought to NIC through a grant from the NIC Foundation.
The presentation is free and open to the public.
