Tickets on sale now for NIC’s Wild Game Feast

11/6/2009

Treat your palate to a unique feast this winter. Tickets are now on sale for the North Idaho College Alumni Association’s 11th annual Wild Game Feast Saturday, Jan. 23.

This year’s event features a five-course meal of extraordinary wild game dishes created by Eddie Nelson of NIC Food Services.

“Our wild game feast is a wonderfully unique dinner,” said NIC Alumni Relations Coordinator Sara Fladeland. “Many in our area are familiar to wild game, but what makes this dinner special is that it’s prepared in a gourmet way.”

This year’s event will begin with a social at 5:30 p.m. in which attendees can listen to music and view silent auction items while enjoying appetizers, including a Northwest cheese and fruit display, Swedish-style buffalo meatballs, shrimp canapés, duck sausage stuffed mushrooms and Steelhead gravlax with bagels and cream cheese.

Following the social, dinner will be served at 7 p.m. in the Ts’elusm Dining Room of NIC’s Edminster Student Union Building. The menu will feature a rich crayfish bisque soup garnished with the succulent meat from the crayfish tail; a butter leaf lettuce salad with heirloom tomatoes, shaved parmesan and a balsamic vinaigrette; roasted quail stuffed with wild mushroom and rice and served with a chasseur sauce and grilled acorn squash; and a white chocolate mousse tart topped with strawberries, huckleberry syrup and Grand Marnier chocolate sauce for dessert.

A special wine selection will be available with dinner in addition to a no-host bar. Wildlife displays provided by Beth Paragamian of the Idaho Fish and Game Department, Idaho Panhandle National Forest and Bureau of Land Management will be on display as well as works by local artist and NIC alumna Tyree Kearns.

All proceeds benefit the NIC Alumni Association and scholarships for NIC students.

Tickets are $65 per person or $60 for NIC Alumni Association members. Limited seating is available.

For tickets, call (208) 769-5978 or purchase online at www.nic.edu/alumni.
