NIC OPEN, but outdoor activities canceled

At this time, North Idaho College and all of its outreach centers are open and classes are in session; however, all outdoor activities are canceled until air quality conditions improve.

NIC wants to remind students, staff, and faculty to stay indoors as much as possible and limit exposure to only walking to and from classes while air quality remains in our area in the "very unhealthy" range. Outdoor physical exertion is discouraged. Conditions will continue to be monitored closely and students, staff, and faculty will be notified via text message, email, and/or notification on www.nic.edu if further activity cancelations or a closure were to occur.

If not canceled, all outdoor athletics practices and physical education activities will be held inside. NIC Maintenance personnel will not be working outside. Scheduling changes may occur for NIC Athletics due to the air quality conditions at home and in the surrounding region. Check www.nic.edu/athletics for scheduling changes.

Air quality conditions can be viewed at https://airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=aqibasics.aqi.
