NIC receives award for its Adopt-a-Crag event

Access Fund, a national climbing organization, recently presented the Western U.S. Adopt-a-Crag of the Year Award to North Idaho College for supporting Adopt-a-Crag Day in Post Falls this fall. NIC's Outdoor Pursuits Coordinator Paul Chivvis and Rusty Baille of the Kootenai Klimbers were chosen as recipients of the award for their involvement in the event in which participants cleaned the climbing area of Q'emiln Riverside Park during the climbing crag cleanup Sept. 12. The award also recognized the more than 50 volunteers that participated in the program for exemplifying “local climbing organizations and businesses coming together to build a cohesive community, foster a better understanding of each other, as well as cultivate a great relationship with park administration and employees.”
