NIC Theater Department to hold auditions for fall play ‘Heidi'

The North Idaho College Theater Department will be holding auditions for its fall production of Heidi Sept. 12 and 13. Auditions will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in Boswell Hall Schuler Auditorium.

Six men and eight women playing characters ages 20 to 50 are needed. The cast also requires two girls playing 8- to 11-year-olds and two boys playing 10- to 12-year-olds.

Community members are encouraged to audition.

Heidi is a musical version of the Randall Adams book, which will include music composed by NIC Music Instructor Gerard Mathes. The play will be directed by NIC Theatre Director Joe Jacoby.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Since the play is a musical, people who can sing and act are encouraged to audition. Each person should prepare a one- to one-and-a-half-minute singing piece from a musical that shows vocal range. Scripts are currently available for early check out in Boswell Hall Room 227.
