Workshops offered in the Silver Valley to assist adults in enrolling in college

Have you ever thought about attending college, but didn't know where to start?

The Educational Opportunity Center of Northern Idaho (EOC) is offering two “Dare to Dream” workshops in Kellogg to help make dreams come true for dozens of North Idaho adults interested in enrolling in college.

The workshops will include information on various career choices, academic and admissions assistance, financial aid information and referrals to community resources, such as child care and other services.

“A dream without action is empty and action without a dream is directionless,” said EOC Director John Sarchio. “But a dream with action equals results. We want to show people that it is possible to make their dreams come true no matter what their age, educational background or current circumstance.”

The workshops will be from 2:30 to 4 p.m. and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20 at the NIC Silver Valley Center, located at 323 Main Street in Kellogg.

EOC is a federally-funded program through NIC focused on assisting adult residents of Idaho's five northern counties in enrolling in postsecondary education.

The workshops are free and participants are encouraged to call in advance to reserve a seat.
