Explore career options during Career Development Week at NIC
North Idaho College’s Career Services has the resources to help individuals discover the perfect career and the education and training necessary to attain it. Career Services will show NIC students and community members how to utilize those resources during Career Development Week Nov. 14-18 at NIC.
The NIC Career Center will host a weeklong open house offering free on-the-spot career assessments, the opportunity to try the new Idaho Career Information System, free copies of Job Choices magazine and free refreshments.
In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to win door prizes, which include gift certificates to area businesses, t-shirts and books.
“We want to make sure that students and community members are aware of NIC’s Career Services and utilize the help we can offer in choosing a career,” said NIC Career Services Director Gail Laferriere. “Whether it’s a student right out of high school or someone changing careers, after investing time and money in education it’s important that they head in a direction that is meaningful, satisfying and fulfilling for them.”
The Career Center uses career counseling, career assessments, career education, workshops and its extensive library of resources to guide people through the career development process, which includes self-knowledge, career and educational exploration and career planning and implementation.
The Career Center is located on the upper level of Edminster Student Union Building on NIC’s main campus and is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday. Visitor parking permits will not be required that week.
