Film presented in honor of International Women's Day

The formation of women’s circles and the movement that connects them worldwide will be the focus of a documentary shown March 7 at North Idaho College in honor of International Women’s Day.
“Peace by Peace: Women on the Frontlines” is a documentary by the organization PEACE X PEACE, which focuses on peace as a component of harmonious and just societies, along with financial equity, restorative justice, rights of education and speech and inclusive governments. The documentary shows women working for these components of peace around the globe.
Narrated by actress Jessica Lange, the documentary had its world premier at the United Nations Headquarters in 2003 on the third anniversary of UN Resolution 1325 on “Women, Peace and Security” and has since been seen in countless venues around the world.
The film will be presented at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 7 in Molstead Library’s Todd Hall.
The film is free and open to the public, but freewill donations will be accepted toward the PEACE X PEACE Outbreak for Peace Kenya and the Women’s Global Initiative Forum.
The event is sponsored by the Diversity Events Committee, Peace Coeur d’Alene and NIC Students for Progressive Change.
