NIC Silver Valley Center classes open for enrollment
There’s still room to enroll in several classes offered in this month through the North Idaho College Silver Valley Center in Kellogg.
“A Practical Guide to QuickBooks” will be offered in two sessions from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays Oct. 17 and 24. The course offers hands-on training on the QuickBooks program, teaching participants how to manage sales and expenses, begin the budget process and identify the usefulness of financial reports. The fee is $69.
“Appalachian Egg Basket with Four Point Lashing” will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon in two Saturday sessions Oct. 14 and 21. The course teaches participants how to make this traditional rib basket using four point lashing, packing, adding primary and secondary ribs and the under/over weave. The class is designed for beginner and intermediate basket makers. The fee is $45.
“Computer Skills—Basics” is offered from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in six sessions Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from Oct. 23 to Nov. 3. The class offers a basic foundation in the capabilities of a computer system, presenting an overview of hardware and software with hands-on instruction in Windows and the Microsoft Office 2003 Suite. The class fee is $139.
