NIC presents fall production of ‘A Midsummer Night's Dream'

The North Idaho College Theater Department’s fall production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream will open Thursday, Oct. 26 in Boswell Hall Schuler Auditorium.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a classic play by William Shakespeare set in a world between life and legend. NIC students and community members are cast in the play, including children and teenagers from the community that play fairies.
“This is one of William Shakespeare’s most popular plays because of its sheer exuberance and magical quality,” said NIC Theater Director Joe Jacoby, who will direct the play. “On the surface, it’s a light, funny comedy, but the relationships have tremendous depth, revealing intensely human characters. Our challenge is to capture all of the fun, magic and complexity this play has to offer.”
In addition to community members and former students, the cast includes the following current NIC students: Dante Autrey, Jordan Daugherty, Erik Satren, Jeff Mollgaard, Luke StormoGipson, Kristen Oliver and Whittney Hawk of Coeur d’Alene, Enrique Oseguera and Jared Alme of Post Falls and Zach Shallbetter of Cocolalla.
Curtain time will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26, 27, 28 and Nov. 2, 3 and 4 in NIC’s Boswell Hall Schuler Auditorium.
Admission is free. Seats can be reserved in advance by calling (208) 769-3220.
