Oct. 28: Men's soccer team scores 6-1 victory to secure SWAC championship title

Freshman forward David Powers scored his first collegiate hat trick to lead NIC to a 6-1 win over Colorado Mountain College Saturday, Oct. 28 at NIC's Eisenwinter Field.
Freshman forward Jared Bork opened the scoring in the 10th minute off an assist from freshman defender Kyle Wirtz and the Cardinals maintained control of the match scoring three goals in each half.
The win earns NIC a berth in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) West Division finals on Saturday Nov. 4. NIC will host the No. 2-ranked team in the country, Yavapai Community College of Arizona. The match will be played at NIC’s Eisenwinter Field at noon and the winner earns a berth to the NJCAA National Tournament in Tyler, Texas.
