The Rotary Student of the Month for March is Aaron Gintz. Gintz, a Civil Engineering Major at North Idaho College, was nominated by Becky Shaffer of the NIC TRIO Student Support Services Program. In her nominating letter she highly praised Aaron both as a student and a contributor to the community.
Aaron currently holds a 3.802 GPA, impressive considering the rigorous course work of an engineering major.
In her nominating letter Shaffer wrote.
“In addition to keeping up with his studies, Aaron is involved both here at NIC and in the community. He spends about four hours each week tutoring math and science courses and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa club. He also spends about 30 hours per week caring for his elderly grandmother, who lives alone and cannot do the things she once could. This is a difficult and time consuming commitment for anyone, but Aaron has a very special relationship with his grandmother."
