NIC softball player named national All-American

North Idaho College softball player Angie Boardman of Spokane, Wash., was recently selected as a National Junior College Athletic Association first team All-American.

Boardman, a second baseman, was one of just over a dozen junior college Division I softball players selected for the honor nationwide.

At the conclusion of the season, Boardman was named to the All-West Region first team for leading the NJCAA Division I in RBIs with 62 in the 2006-2007 season. Boardman also earned NJCAA All-Tournament honors following the NJCAA National Tournament, in which the NIC softball team placed second, clinching the second highest team finish in NIC history and a 46-26 record on the season.

Boardman will be playing for the University of Utah next season.
