The local AV chapter of the Philanthropic Educational Organization (PEO) has awarded scholarships totaling $2,540 for fall 2011 to North Idaho College students Haley McDaniel of Osburn and Neva Jo Winson of Post Falls.
Since 1993, PEO Chapter AV has awarded more than $12,000 to NIC students. PEO is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women through scholarships, grants, awards and loans. Chapter AV, in Coeur d’Alene, was founded in 1942 and is one of five chapters in Kootenai County.
