Auditions to be held for NIC theater production of ‘Third'

The North Idaho College Theater Department is holding open auditions for the play “Third,” written by Wendy Wasserstein, at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 and 22 in Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center.

“Third” is a play about a college teacher and her student clashing over a disagreement with the interpretation of the Shakespeare play “King Lear.” Todd Jasmin will direct the NIC play, which has production dates of Feb. 16-18 and Feb. 23-25. There will also be an all-day technical rehearsal Sunday, Feb. 12.

Community members are encouraged to audition. There are openings for two males roles (one in his early 20s and the other age 60 to 70) and three female roles (one in her early 20s and two playing middle age).

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the play. Scripts are available from NIC Theater Director Joe Jacoby in Boswell Hall Room 214 or by calling (208) 769-3220.
