North Idaho College will host “The Gathering of the Bands” event Wednesday, Nov. 16 in which eighth-grade students from 12 different area middle schools will visit the NIC campus for band clinics and a special performance with the NIC Wind Symphony.
The bands will participate in clinics through the day led by guest clinicians Dave Weatherred and Lee Shook. Schools participating in the concert include Canfield Middle School, Sandpoint Middle School, Lakes Middle School, Coeur d’Alene Charter Academy, Timberlake Junior High School, Bonners Ferry Middle School, Lakeland Junior High School, Post Falls Middle School, River City Middle School, Northwest Christian School, Clark Fork Junior High School and Newport Middle School from Newport, Wash.
The bands will join with the NIC Wind Symphony for a special joint concert at 7:30 p.m. in Boswell Hall Schuler Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and open to the public.
