U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Officer Stephanie Kuck will speak on “Exploring Careers within the U.S. Department of State” from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29 in North Idaho College’s Molstead Library Todd Hall.
Kuck will share her experiences working as a country assistance coordinator for Ukraine and Belrus. She has worked in various capacities internationally, including Baghdad, Iraq, where she met with women leaders from that country to strengthen ties and develop policies/program initiatives. She organized and led the first delegation of Iraqi women to participate in the U.N.’s “Commission on the Status of Women” in New York. She also took the group for meetings with then President George W. Bush, members of the U.S. Congress and the media.
The lecture is sponsored by the NIC Social and Behavioral Sciences Division along with the departments of American Indian Studies and Anthropology. It is free and open to the public.
