NIC student newspaper brings home first-place award


The Sentinel, the student-produced newspaper at North Idaho College, won first place for “Best of Show” among two-year college newspapers at the 28th annual Associated Collegiate Press national convention in Seattle March 1-4.

NIC earned honors for best two-year college newspaper with Volume 65, Issue 7 of the Sentinel. The Sentinel also was awarded eighth place for publication website in the small school category with its online publication at www.nicsentinel.com.

Former NIC journalism adviser Nils Rosdahl, Sentinel Web Editor Jantzen Hunsaker of Hayden and Staff Contributor Benaiah Cheevers of Coeur d’Alene represented NIC at the convention.
