Basketball players are encouraged to register teams now for the Coeur d’Alene Shootout, a three-on-three basketball tournament Aug. 25 and 26 on North Idaho College’s main campus.
The Coeur d’Alene Shootout is a double-elimination tournament with standard half-court games played to 20 points or 25 minutes for ninth-grade and up. Eighth-graders and under have a three-game guarantee.
Anyone in the third grade and older can participate in 10 different divisions. Teams will be placed in the bracket of the oldest player on the team.
The entry fee is $100 per team and includes a T-shirt. Entries must be received by Aug. 20. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and the number of teams will be limited. Registration forms are available at The Sports Cellar located at 402 Sherman Ave. or download one at www.nicathletics.com. Once determined, brackets will be posted to the NIC athletics website as well.
