NIC Board of Trustees election filing deadline Aug. 31

The last day candidates can file declaration/petition of candidacy forms with the local clerk of the North Idaho College district for the three open positions on the NIC Board of Trustees is 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31.

Individuals who miss this deadline will not be placed on the ballot. They may file as a declared write-in candidate if they file a declaration of intent no later than 5 p.m. on Sept. 21.

NIC is governed by a five-member board of trustees elected at large from within Kootenai County for staggered terms.
Seat A, Seat B, and Seat C currently held by Judy Meyer, Mic Armon, and Ron Vieselmeyer respectively, will appear on this year’s general election ballot during Idaho’s general election on Nov. 6. All positions are four-year terms.

Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old, a resident of Kootenai County for at least 30 days prior to the election and a registered voter. Candidates must also obtain at least five signatures from others meeting the same elector requirements on a nominating petition.

Declaration/Petition of Candidacy forms are available in the NIC Office of Resource Management, located in Lee-Kildow Hall Room 111, or the Kootenai County Elections Office at 1808 N. Third Street in Coeur d’Alene. Completed forms are to be returned to the clerk of the North Idaho College district in the Office of Resource Management by 5 p.m. on Aug. 31.
