Auditions to be held for NIC's production of ‘Much Ado About Nothing'

The North Idaho College Theatre Department is holding open auditions for the play “Much Ado about Nothing,” written by William Shakespeare at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 4 and Sept. 5 in the Schuler Performing Arts Center.

“Much Ado About Nothing” is a popular comedy about two sets of lovers: One pair wants to be in love while the other pair works hard at pretending not to be in love.

Production dates are Oct. 25-27 and Nov. 1-3. Rehearsals will be Monday-Friday evenings beginning Monday, Sept. 10. Prepared monologues of about one minute in length are welcome, but not required. The auditions will consist mostly of cold readings. Scripts will be available in Boswell Hall Room 214 beginning Aug. 27.

There are openings for 18 to 20 male roles (early 20s to early 50s) and four to six female roles (early 20s and 30s). Community members are highly encouraged to attend.
