North Idaho College cooperated with Coeur d'Alene Police and the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office Monday, Sept. 17 as officers searched for an NIC student who had warrants for his arrest out of Washington State. The student had also allegedly made veiled threats toward NIC at the Disability Action Center in downtown Coeur d’Alene and not at the Center for Educational Access on campus.
That person still has not been apprehended by police by the time of this posting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18.
Officers will remain on campus throughout the day to ensure the safety of students and employees. Police do not believe there is an immediate threat to the safety of students and employees, therefore classes will proceed as scheduled. NIC is NOT being evacuated or locked down at this time.
