Venerable Thubten Chodron, an American nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, will speak on “Buddhist Advice for a Better World” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12 in Molstead Library Todd Hall at North Idaho College.
Ven. Chodron has practical advice for creating a more peaceful way of living. She will impart wisdom on the state of the world, feelings of stress from the news media, and how to live a peaceful, gentler life.
Ven. Chodron teaches Buddhist philosophy and meditation worldwide and has published numerous books. She was ordained a nun in the Tibetan tradition in 1977 and has practiced under the guidance of the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan masters in both India and Nepal.
The event is sponsored by NIC, Coeur d’Alene Dharma Friends and the Sravasti Abbey. The presentation is being offered at no charge, but donations are appreciated. Attendees are asked to arrive a few minutes early.
