A wide variety of professionals and industry leaders will be on-hand to talk to students in the North Idaho College Edminster Student Union Building from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14. Students and career explorers can come and go as they please and will receive a handout at the door telling them which professions are represented and how to locate them. All attendees have a chance to win an iPad by filling out a survey after they’ve visited with several of the professionals at the event.
“This will be an opportunity for them to talk with as many professionals as they wish all in one setting,” said Gail Laferriere, NIC assistant director for Career Services. “When we’ve done this in the past, students really could see themselves achieving higher goals, while learning about different professions and the variety of educational opportunities for achieving them.”
The showcase is a collaboration with NIC and IdahoGOES, which is a consortium that includes NIC, the University of Idaho, Lewis-Clark State College, Idaho State University and Boise State University. IdahoGOES was created to provide residents and the community of North Idaho with options and resources available for sustainability.
The event is free and open to the public.
