NIC recently had a fraudulent job posted through its website. NIC takes many precautions to ensure the legitimacy of job postings and hasn't had a fraudulent job posted to its site since 1994. Once the fraudulent posting was discovered, it was immediately removed from the site. This is a good reminder to follow the proper precautions when reviewing or responding to job postings.
Beware of any position asking you for bank account information, or asking you to send funds. Also, please be sure to go through www.nic.edu/career and carefully read the ACKNOWLEGEMENT, AGREEMENT AND DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY, which offers tips to avoid following through with fraudulent job announcements, and help you to protect yourself.
