As part of Child Passenger Awareness Week, which begins on Sept. 15 and runs through Sept. 21, Jessica Geiger performs a car safety seat inspection on 2-year-old Henry Matthews of Coeur d’Alene on Friday (below), while his mother, Sara Matthews, looks on. Geiger is the senior administrative assistant at the North Idaho College Children’s Center. She is a trained child passenger safety technician certified through Safe kids Worldwide and inspected car seats throughout the day. Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children age 1 to 13 years old. More information on how to ensure a child’s seat is safe can be found at www.trafficsafetymarketing.gov/cps.
