Community invited to NIC at Sandpoint ribbon cutting
The community is invited to come celebrate with North Idaho College its opening of a new science laboratory at a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 in Sandpoint. The ceremony will be held at the NIC at Sandpoint Center Annex Room 203 at 102 South Euclid Street.
The new laboratory allows students to complete an associate’s degree in Sandpoint. Built with donations from a mix of individuals and regional businesses, an outpouring of community support made the NIC at Sandpoint science laboratory a reality.
“Students in Sandpoint will never have to leave the region to get their associate’s degree,” said NIC President Joe Dunlap. “It greatly increases access for everyone in our northernmost service area.”
The community surpassed fundraising goals after just a few months, raising well over the $100,000 needed to retrofit the space and purchase the furnishings, equipment and technology, and supplies necessary for the science lab.
The public is encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served. For More Information
