Tibetan nun to speak at NIC on living a meaningful life
Venerable Thubten Chodron, an American nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, will speak on “Life is Fleeting: What will you do with it” from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8 in Molstead Library Todd Hall at North Idaho College.
It’s a simple fact: Everyone who is born will eventually die. And we have no idea when that will be. We can use awareness of this fact to help make our lives rich and meaningful. Join Ven. Chodron, who will help us identify and practice the values that make life worth living.
Ven. Chodron teaches Buddhist philosophy and meditation worldwide and has published numerous books. She was ordained a nun in the Tibetan tradition in 1977 and has practiced under the guidance of the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan masters in both India and Nepal.
The event is sponsored by NIC, Associated Students of North Idaho College, Coeur d’Alene Dharma Friends, and the Sravasti Abbey.
The presentation is being offered at no charge, but donations are appreciated. Attendees are asked to arrive a few minutes early.
