NIC hosts high school welding competition


There were 25 high school students who participated in the regional Skills USA welding competition hosted by North Idaho College Friday, March 14. NIC welding instructors, students, and former students acted as judges in the event. Winners will go on to the statewide Skills USA competition. Kootenai Technical Education Campus, Lakeland High School, and Mullan Junior-Senior High School all participated. Cd’A Metals and A-L Compressed Gases donated prizes for the top winners, who competed in Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Oxygen/Fuel Cutting.
