Stanley named NIC's head volleyball coach

Kelsey Stanley was named head coach of the North Idaho College volleyball team at the NIC Boosters Luncheon Tuesday, May 13. Stanley has been the team’s assistant coach for two years and interim head coach since January.

“Kelsey has done an excellent job as the interim head coach and earned a chance to guide our volleyball team,” said Al Williams, NIC athletic director. “She gained valuable experience as an assistant coach and understands the needs and expectations of our program. I believe she will be a nice addition to our head coaching staff.”

Stanley attended Bottineau High School in North Dakota, where she excelled as a student athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track and field. She earned All-State honors in volleyball and was a five-time state pole vault champion in track. In 2006, Stanley was named North Dakota Athlete of the Year.

Stanley continued her volleyball and track career at Dickinson State University where she became a six-time NAIA All-American in track and field and a four-time national pole vault champion. She completed a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Dickinson State University.

Kelsey lives in Coeur d’Alene with her husband, Keri – who is currently the NIC assistant wrestling coach – and their child.
