NIC Aerospace Center of Excellence to hold open house


The public is invited to tour the facility and learn about programs at an open house for the NIC Aerospace Center of Excellence from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, at 1845 W. Dakota Ave. in Hayden, Idaho.

The open house will give the public an opportunity to meet faculty and staff at the facility as well as learn about programs such as Aviation Maintenance Technology, Non-Destructive Testing, CNC Mill Operator and Composites Materials Fabrication and Repair. Scheduled events include:

4 p.m. Aircraft Sheet Metal Riveting

4:45 p.m. Vacuum Bagging Composites with Resin

5:30 p.m. Fiber Glass Wet Lay-up and Molding

More than 30 students from seven Idaho high schools involved in Idaho PTECH will also be touring the Aerospace Center. The Idaho PTECH Network is a partnership between industry, high schools and community colleges that prepares students for careers in Idaho’s high-growth industries such as aerospace and advanced manufacturing, technology and healthcare.
