Testing Center
Entrance Exams
The Testing Center proctors entrance exams for the LPN, RN and Pharmacy Tech programs at NIC. These exams are usually given during the month prior to the program application deadline. An appointment to take the test is required and can be arranged by calling the Testing Center at least a week prior to the date you need. Call (208-676-7203).
A fee is required for these exams and a receipt of payment must be shown at time of testing.
RN & PN
- This exam (TEAS) can take up to, but no longer than 3 hours and 29 minutes
- The four sections of this test are: Reading, Mathematics, Science and English
- Plan on at least three and 3/4 hours to sign in, complete the demographic information and take the exam.
- If you have taken an ATI exam before you will need to remember the password used at that time. We can help if you can’t remember it.
- There is a $25.00 fee payable in cash or by check made out to NIC and must be paid to the Business Office in Lee Kildow Hall before testing.
Pharmacy Tech & Radiography Program
- This exam can take up to, but no longer than, 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- The seven sections of this test are:
- a. Essential Math Skills - 60 minutes
- b. Social Decisions - 10 minutes
- c. Stressful Situations - 12 minutes
- d. Learning Styles - 20 minutes
- e. Reading Rate - 1 minute
- f. Reading Comprehension - 30 minutes
- g.Test Taking Skills - 20 minutes
- There is a $20.00 fee payable in cash or by check made out to NIC and must be paid to the Business Office in Lee Kildow Hall before testing.
