FET Duties
FET Timeline: First & Second Year

October 1 |
By October 1 of the first year in probationary status the faculty member will nominate a faculty evaluation team (FET) to the Tenure Committee. |

Fall Semester |
FET members observe classroom/lab and deliver written record of observation to candidate. Student evaluation surveys completed for candidate to be shared with FET members. |

Spring Semester |
FET members observe classroom/lab and deliver written record of observation to candidate. Student evaluation surveys completed for candidate to be shared with FET members. |

May 1 |
Candidate informs Tenure Committee in writing that FET evaluations have been completed. Division Chair submits recommendation for continued employment to Vice President and candidate. |
FET Timeline: Third Year

Fall Semester |
FET members conduct at least one summative (formal) classroom observation and evaluation, using a form approved by the tenure committee for summative evaluations. Student evaluation surveys completed for candidate to be shared with FET members. |

Spring Semester |
By March 31, FET members conduct at least one summative (formal) classroom observation and evaluation, using a form approved by the tenure committee for summative evaluations. |
|
April 30 |
FET members submit a summative evaluation inclusive of all years of observation to candidate. FET members meet with candidate to review summative evaluation. Candidate signs evaluation to acknowledge receipt. FET members submit copies of summative evaluation to Division Chair. |
FET Timeline: Fourth (Application) Year

September 15 |
Candidate submits tenure application to the Tenure Committee and provides each FET member, Tenure Committee, and Division Chair a written self-evaluation which addresses the criteria for tenure outlined in the Tenure Policy. |

October 15 |
Each FET member submits copies of the third-year summative classroom observation & evaluation and recommendation for or against conferral of tenure to the candidate, Division Chair, and Tenure Committee. |
