Meet the 2013 Carpentry Class

This year we have six first year Carpentry Program students and seven second year students enrolled in the Carpentry Management Program. They have already started construction on the 2013 Really BIG Raffle home, which serves as the learning lab for this program under the supervision of Carpentry Instructor Dave McRae.

The 10-month Carpentry program is intended to provide the skills and training needed for various aspects of residential carpentry including site preparation, forming concrete, trade math, framing, rafter and truss installation, stair layout, exterior finish, and interior finish.

The second year of the program leads to an A.A.S. degree in Carpentry Management Technology. Second-year students are challenged at a higher level as they meet with subcontractors and obtain materials and supplies throughout work on the raffle house.

We thank this year's class for working hard to make the grand prize home come to fruition!
