Welcome to Tutoring!

Peer tutor study group.

How does the  Tutoring Program work?

The Tutoring Program offers free, drop-in tutoring to current NIC students. Stop by the Cardinal Learning Commons in Lee-Kildow Hall, Room 118, to find out more or to sign up for tutoring.

How do I sign up for tutoring?

Visit the Cardinal Learning Commons in Lee Kildow Hall (LKH 118). The front desk staff will help you complete the registration process. Together, with the front desk staff, you can review the posted tutors' schedules and find the times that best fit your schedule.

I've signed up...what do I do now?

  • Come to each tutoring session prepared with attempted assignments, textbooks, notes, and necessary supplies.
  • Explain your needs to your tutor and be ready to ask questions.
  • Remember that tutoring is a supplement to classroom instruction not a replacement for missed classes.
  • Be punctual for all appointments.

The tutor's responsibility is to help the student understand key concepts, not teach the course or complete homework.
