Academic Probation, Suspension and Disqualificiation
The following policy applies to any student carrying credit hours at the end of the add/drop period of Fall semester, Spring semester and Summer session.
It is highly recommended that students on Academic Probation meet with their advisor.
Policy for Students Under 26 credits

Policy for Students Under 26 credits:
Academic Probation
A student must earn a cumulative GPA of 1.75 or higher to remain in Good Standings. If a student's cumulative GPA drops below a 1.75 they will be placed on Academic Probation.
Students on Academic Probation must receive a semester GPA of 2.0 or higher and raise their cumulative GPA to 1.75 or higher. If a student does not meet the terms of their Academic Probation they will be placed on Suspension.

Suspension
A student placed on Academic Suspension will be required to sit out for one semester or petition the Admissions and Academic Standars Committee for reentry. Once a suspended student is readmitted to NIC they must receive a semester GPA of 2.0 or higher until their cumulative GPA reaches a 1.75 or higher. If the GPA requirements are not met then the student will be placed Academic Disqualification.

Academic Disqualification
A student who has been Academic Disqualified from NIC must petition the Admissions and Academic Standards Committee to return to the college.

Academic Probation
